Maintenance Planning Engineer – Mechanical | Qatar

We are looking for a Mechanical Maintenance Planning Engineer with strong hands-on plant maintenance experience to plan and prepare daily maintenance activities and ensure jobs are ready for safe, efficient execution. The ideal candidate will have strong SAP PM/EAM experience, together with practical experience in maintenance planning, spare parts/materials, technical evaluation and maintenance contract handling.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan daily mechanical maintenance activities, including manpower, materials, services, time and cost requirements.

• Prepare detailed work packs and job plans and coordinate resources to support right-first-time maintenance execution.

• Establish, maintain and improve preventive maintenance plans and schedules.

• Use SAP PM/EAM for maintenance planning and maintenance master data, including equipment, functional locations, BOMs, material/item data and maintenance plans.

• Coordinate with production, Supply Chain, contractors and other stakeholders to ensure spares, materials and services are available before scheduled work.

• Manage maintenance-related spares and materials, including item specifications, BOMs, criticality and inventory/buffer levels.

• Support maintenance contract establishment and handling, including scope development, specifications, procurement initiation, technical evaluation, contractor coordination and invoice verification.

• Prepare maintenance progress reports, KPIs, annual maintenance plans and cost/budget inputs.

• Maintain appropriate records in the CMMS and comply with company HSEQ, PTW and safety requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.

• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in an Oil & Gas, Petrochemical or Fertilizer industry.

• Strong mechanical maintenance and field experience.

• Proven experience in daily maintenance planning and preventive maintenance planning.

• Hands-on experience with SAP Maintenance / SAP PM/EAM.

• Practical experience creating and updating maintenance master data in SAP, including equipment, functional locations, BOMs and material/item data.

• Experience in technical evaluation and spare parts/material management.

• Experience supporting or handling maintenance contracts, including technical scope/specifications, procurement and contractor coordination.

• Good written and spoken English, including ability to prepare technical/business reports.

• Good understanding of industrial PTW, HSEQ and safe maintenance practices.

Preferred

• Experience with SAP S/4HANA.

• Experience with SAP maintenance processes including work orders, purchase requisitions, service entry sheets, call-off orders and service orders.

• Experience with annual maintenance planning, budgeting, cost optimization and maintenance KPIs.
