Technical Product Engineer – Backend / Full Stack (AI-Enabled)

Matajer AI is looking for a hands-on Technical Product Engineer to work on-site in the UAE directly with the founder.

This is not a traditional developer role where you simply receive tickets and write code.

We are looking for someone who can understand problems, investigate, think logically, use AI effectively, execute solutions, and verify the result before calling a task complete.

You will work on an existing e-commerce and ERP ecosystem involving backend systems, APIs, databases, internal business tools, integrations, automation, and AI-assisted development.

🚀 What You Will Do
• Understand business problems and turn them into clear technical tasks.
• Work hands-on with existing backend and full-stack systems.
• Investigate bugs and identify root causes using code, logs, data, and evidence.
• Build and improve APIs, database logic, integrations, and internal tools.
• Use AI coding tools and agents to speed up development, debugging, research, testing, and documentation.
• Review and verify AI-generated work instead of trusting it blindly.
• Learn unfamiliar platforms and technologies quickly when required.
• Test your work and clearly explain what was completed, what was verified, and what remains uncertain.
• Document important technical decisions and hand over work clearly.
• Work directly with the founder and other developers to move projects from idea to working result.

💻 Technical Foundation

You should have real hands-on software development experience with areas such as:
• Backend development
• REST APIs
• Databases and data modelling
• Git / version control
• Debugging and testing
• Modern web or full-stack development

Experience with Node.js, PHP/Laravel, Python, React/Next.js, MySQL/PostgreSQL, Docker, cloud platforms, DevOps, or AI/LLM systems is useful — but knowledge of a specific stack is not mandatory.

We value the ability to learn the right technology when needed.

🤖 AI-First Mindset

AI is a core part of how we work.

You should be comfortable using tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, coding agents, or similar tools to accelerate your work.

However, you must also be able to:
• Understand the generated solution.
• Review the actual code and changes.
• Test the result yourself.
• Detect missing cases or incorrect assumptions.
• Know when AI may be wrong.

📍 Requirements
• Currently based in the UAE.
• Available for full-time, on-site work.
• Real hands-on software development experience.
• Comfortable working directly with the founder.
• Good practical communication in English or Arabic.
• Able to demonstrate your skills through a short practical technical exercise.

• Experience with e-commerce, ERP, SaaS, marketplaces, or operational systems.
• Experience owning a product or feature end-to-end.
• Backend architecture and database experience.
• Cloud / Linux / DevOps exposure.
• Experience using AI tools professionally.
