Electrical Technician - Industrial

Job description

Key Responsibilities : Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair industrial electrical systems and equipment. Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on motors, generators, control panels, MCCs, and electrical machinery. Diagnose electrical faults using appropriate testing equipment. Install and terminate cables, cable trays, conduits, switches, breakers, and control wiring. Read and interpret electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, and schematics. Conduct routine inspections and ensure electrical equipment operates safely. Assist with electrical installation, commissioning, and maintenance activities. Follow electrical safety procedures and site standards.Technical Skills : Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems and power distribution. Hands-on experience with AC/DC motors, generators, transformers, MCCs, DBs, and control panels. Knowledge of contactors, relays, overloads, circuit breakers, fuses, and motor starters. Ability to use multimeters, clamp meters, insulation testers (Megger), and other electrical testing tools. Knowledge of cable termination, glanding, crimping, and electrical connections. Basic understanding of PLC/control circuits and VFDs is an advantage. Ability to troubleshoot single-phase and three-phase electrical systems. Knowledge of electrical safety, grounding/earthing, and lockout/tagout procedures. Candidate Requirements: Minimum 3+ years of relevant industrial electrical experience. ITI/Diploma in Electrical Engineering or a related field preferred. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Ability to read electrical drawings and schematics. Good knowledge of electrical tools and testing instruments. Physically fit and able to work in an industrial/site environment. Good communication and teamwork skills.
