Senior Site Manager - Data Center

Job description

The Senior Site Manager is responsible for managing the construction of one or more sites. He/She sets up and monitors the overall organization of the sites in conjunction with the Site supervisors . He/She must comply with all the safety, quality and technical regulations and standards in force. He/She is also responsible
for ensuring that the works progress smoothly in compliance with costs, deadlines and resources. He/She reports to the Head of Regional Site Teams (regularly)
and reports functionally to the Operation Manager of the GCP Ops Site Works department. He/She is responsible for site record management and provides feedback at site closure.

1.Schedule Drafting and Monitoring
• Ensure compliance with the approved project schedule.
• Supervise the preparation and monitoring of site schedules in coordination with the Site Works Coordinator.
• Track project progress and implement corrective actions to maintain schedule commitments.
2. Budget Management
• Validate project objectives, costs, timelines, and resources with the Project Manager based on the approved estimate and internal contract.
• Organize site activities in line with budget objectives.
• Identify opportunities to reduce project expenditure.
• Monitor budget variances and explain discrepancies through monthly reporting.
• Maintain NCR, opportunities, and claims registers.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate project and site risks.
3. Project Preparation
• Prepare the project before site mobilization in coordination with:
• Project Manager
• Site Works Coordinator
• GCP/Ops Operations Department
• Relevant supporting departments
• Participate in:
• Design reviews
• Contract kick-off meetings
• Site mobilization planning
• Prepare the internal contract budget in coordination with the Site Works Coordinator.
• Define assembly and installation methodologies according to project requirements.
• Communicate execution plans to Site Supervisors.
• Establish site organization, facilities, and office setup.
4. Project and Site Management
• Ensure compliance with site organization requirements defined by the Project Manager and Operations team.
• Manage site execution in accordance with:
• Technical specifications
• Contract requirements
• Assignment orders
• Quality Plan
• HSE Plan
• Company procedures
• Manage site activities in coordination with Site Supervisors.
• Oversee receiving, inspection, and storage of equipment on site.
• Ensure all work execution, testing, commissioning activities, and site resources comply with local regulations and legislation.
• Coordinate with the HSE Manager regarding health, safety, and environmental matters.
• Provide technical support to the Site Works Coordinator when required.
5. Quality Assurance and Service Delivery
• Establish and maintain a site quality plan.
• Ensure compliance with the Quality Management System.
• Control customer-supplied materials incorporated into the works.
• Monitor quality performance, including NCR management.
• Assess customer facilities and recommend improvement opportunities.
• Ensure testing, monitoring, and commissioning equipment is:
• Maintained
• Calibrated
• Inspected
• Properly transported and stored

6. As-Built Documentation Management
• Ensure all site personnel and subcontractors update construction drawings with site modifications.
• Verify all red-marked drawings are completed and submitted to the Design Office.
• Support the preparation of final "As-Built" documentation upon project completion.
7. Reporting and Interface with Project Management
• Prepare and submit project reports in coordination with the Site Works Coordinator, including:
• Monthly status reports
• Progress reports
• Budget variance reports
• Meeting minutes
• Transportation damage reports
• Equipment arrival reports
• Final stock reports
• Operating incident reports
• Equipment incident reports
• Non-conformance reports
• Maintain regular communication with the Project Manager and Operations team.
8. End-of-Project Activities
• Prepare documentation required for project closeout and lessons learned.
• Coordinate the end-of-project review and feedback process.
• Consolidate and verify all project documentation, including:
• Assembly records
• Test reports
• Commissioning records
• Site drawings
• Submit final approved documentation to the Project Manager and customer.
9. Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Management
• Ensure compliance with:
• Local regulations
• Schneider Electric safety requirements
• Customer HSE requirements
• Verify that personnel assigned to site possess the required:
• Skills
• Experience
• Certifications
• Authorization levels
• Develop, implement, maintain, and update:
• Site Safety Plans
• Risk Assessments
• Ensure Field Service Representatives (FSRs) and subcontractors comply with HSE requirements.
• Conduct regular site safety inspections.
• Lead periodic safety meetings and follow up on action plans.
• Investigate and manage safety incidents.
• Implement corrective and preventive actions for safety-related issues.

10. Authority
• Monitor, document, and report HSE KPIs and performance metrics.

According to the skills, means and authority, the site manager has overall responsibility for the EHS aspects on sites for which he/she is responsible.

11. Schneider Electric charter of values and instructions

• Comply with Schneider Electric instructions and ensure that they are complied with by the personnel
• Level of education required (Mandatory schooling, Vocational education, SGCP /Opsialized school, Undergraduate, University degree, PhD)
• Team management
• Flexibility & Reliability, Focus on technical details & Customer focus, Team player
• Ability to communicate (written, verbal) in clear and synthetic manner on technical issues/topics.
• Good Software tools literacy: MS Office (MS Project), Acrobat, AutoCAD, Outlook, Testing device software(Omicron), Protection Relays Setting software
• Advanced Knowledge of Medium voltage/Low voltage equipment, Power stations and principles, The latest technologies and commissioning test principles
• Confirmed experience or litteracy with any of Schneider Equipment for MV (Premset, MCSET, PIX), Protection Relays (SEPAM, Micom, Easergy), UPS APC Symmetra and LV Distribution panels(Blokset, Okken, Prisma) is advantage
• Experience - Total number of years of professional experience necessary prior to the job entry
10 years minimum as a Site Supervisor / Commissioning Supervisor
• Baccalaureate + 2 years of study of Electrical Engineering qualification
