Job DescriptionA leading government healthcare facility in the UAE is seeking an experienced specialist/consultant – cardiothoracic surgery to join its advanced surgical team.
The successful candidate will provide comprehensive surgical care for patients with complex cardiac, thoracic, and vascular conditions, working within a multidisciplinary environment and delivering high standards of perioperative and post-operative care.
Key Responsibilities
• Assess, diagnose, and surgically manage patients with complex cardiac and thoracic conditions.
• Perform a broad range of cardiothoracic procedures, including open and minimally invasive surgeries where appropriate.
• Manage patients with coronary artery disease, valvular heart disease, thoracic conditions, and other complex cardiothoracic disorders.
• Conduct comprehensive pre-operative assessments and develop individualized surgical plans.
• Provide post-operative management and monitor patients for potential complications.
• Manage emergency and high-risk cardiothoracic surgical cases.
• Collaborate closely with cardiologists, cardiac anesthetists, intensivists, radiologists, and other multidisciplinary teams.
• Participate in multidisciplinary case discussions and clinical decision-making.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and follow established patient safety and clinical governance standards.
• Contribute to teaching, mentoring, clinical audits, quality improvement, and continuing medical education.
Requirements
• Medical degree from a recognized institution.
• Recognized postgraduate qualification in cardiothoracic surgery / cardiovascular and thoracic surgery.
• Relevant specialist or consultant-level experience.
• Candidates with UK CCT, Western qualifications, American Board, Australian Board, or German Board are encouraged to apply.
• Extensive experience in cardiothoracic surgical procedures and complex case management.
• Strong operative, clinical decision-making, and multidisciplinary teamwork skills.
• Previous experience in a tertiary, teaching, or government hospital is advantageous.
